George and Tony Entertainment Show

JK Woodward's Mirror Broken

It's the week before Free Comic Book Day 2017 and what better way to celebrate than with two guests? First, artist JK Woodward returns to the show to tell us about his new mini-series Star Trek: The Next Generation - Mirror Broken (a preview of which will be offered by IDW at your local comic shop on Free Comic Book Day). The story is set in Star Trek's fan favorite Mirror Universe. Did you know one of the series' writers, Scott Tipton, owns Blast Off Comics in California? Guess where JK is spending Free Comic Book Day? See what's going on at www.blastoffcomics.com and for all things JK Woodward, go to http://jkwoodwardart.blogspot.com, follow him on Instagram and Twitter at jk_woodward, and on Facebook at james.k.woodward. Check out our archives on iTunes or www.georgeandtony.com for JK's previous appearances on episodes 81 and 100.

Then, guest co-host Rich Gollhofer of Comic Logic in Ashburn, VA fills in for Tony and teases us with what to expect from some of the publishers participating in Free Comic Book Day 2017. If you are in the northern Virginia area, make Comic Logic your number one stop not only on Free Comic Book Day but all year long for all your sequential art needs. Get the latest news at the store at www.comiclogicva.com and they go by comiclogicva on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Say hi to Rich and tell him George and Tony sent you.

The Artist Within By Greg Preston

For the past 25 years, Greg Preston has photographed some of the most iconic comic book artists, cartoonists, animators, and illustrators in their natural habitat...their studios. The first book compiling these photos came out ten years ago. Finally, The Artist Within - Photographic Portraits of Artists: Book 2, is ready to be put together and see print...with your help. Greg joins George to talk about the book and some of the amazing creators he has had the privilege to meet one on one.

Please check out www.kickstarter.com/projects/1242391669/the-artist-within-photographic-portraits-of-artist?ref=nav_search and back this campaign. The last day to contribute is April 27, 2017 and there are stretch goals to be met! This is a book for anyone to enjoy; especially those interested in photography or comics and the people who produce them. Don't forget to tell Greg that George and Tony sent you!

Help Wanted

It has become a bit of a habit to have Rob Shade fill in for Tony while he is on hiatus. Last heard on episode 161 (check our archives on iTunes and www.georgeandtony.libsyn.com), Rob returns to talk about the perils and monotony of job hunting and tells a tale of success we are confident you will enjoy. Rob and George turn sour grapes into a lovely, aromatic podcast wine, vintage 2017.

Please don't forget to use the Amazon link at www.georgeandtony.com for all your online shopping and leave us some reviews on iTunes. Follow and Like George & Tony Entertainment on Facebook and George and Tony on Twitter. Thank you for listening.

Is That A Joy-Con In Your Pocket?

Adam Sharrock from The Gaming Marathon, another great show on The RELM Network, fills in for Tony this week to talk about being evacuated from his home during the Oroville Dam spillway erosion event a couple of weeks ago. He also tells George about the new Nintendo Switch and his favorite video game of 2016 (and a strong contender for 2017 already).  Plus, Adam got married since the last time he was on the show (episode 143; check our archives on iTunes if you haven't listened yet).

Listen to Adam and his co-hosts Asad, Aaron, and Dennis the Cynic on the Gaming Marathon on iTunes, Sound Cloud, and, of course, www.relmnetwork.com. Keep using #HowsTheWebsiteAsad and keep checking www.thegamingmarathon.com. It will be up and running someday. Plus, go to www.twitch.tv/gaming_marathon to watch the guys live stream their gameplay.

Please take a moment to leave us and the guys at the Gaming Marathon positive five-star reviews on iTunes. It helps like-minded people find our shows.

Lemonheads and Mike and Ikes

You've heard the rest, now hear the best...then listen to us! George is joined by our resident film critic, Bryan Loy, to review the Oscar telecast from last week. It is worth the wait because it was voted best Academy Award related podcast of 2017. Wait...what do you mean we opened the wrong envelope? Damn you, PricewaterhouseCoopers!!!

Bryan is a frequent guest on www.epicfilmguys.podbean.com and he co-hosts their sister show called B-Sides. Check out Bryan's last two appearances on our show to complete the trilogy of discussions of the films of 2016. They are episodes 144 and 157 available in our archives on iTunes and www.georgeandtony.com.

Gallifrey One 2017

Rob Shade, the man who designed the logo for Buzz Burbank News and Comment (another great show on the RELM Network), returns to fill in for Tony so he can tell George about his adventures at Gallifrey One, the 29th Annual North American Doctor Who celebration. His awkward encounters with Naoko Mori are worth the price of admission but he doesn't stop there as he shares stories about panels, meeting John Hurt last year, and schools George on Blake's 7 and The Thick Of it. It's a lot of British pop culture thrown into one episode. Plus, George checks out the Alex Ross exhibit at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. And, of course, Rob rants.

Please help grow the show by sharing our links on your social media pages and leaving us those much coveted five star reviews on iTunes. Thank you for listening and supporting the little podcast that can.
